AI Shift News — “SPACEX EARNINGS: 5 NUMBERS TO WATCH | SPCX Q3”. Facts on this page cite the primary sources below, not the video.
Why this, why now
SpaceX says it will post Q3 2026 results on Tuesday, Oct 20, after the close, with a live audio-only webcast at 4:30 p.m. ET (3:30 p.m. CT). Our Oct 16 investing post covered the AI compute contracts. On Starlink Saturday, this one covers the other big line: Starlink, which SpaceX reports as its Connectivity segment. Here's what's already on file, what analysts expect, and how to read Tuesday's numbers.
The Starlink baseline (SpaceX's own Q2 filing)
| Metric | Q2 2026 | Q1 2026 | Q2 2025 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starlink subscribers (period end) | 12.0M | 10.3M | 6.0M |
| Starlink ARPU (avg. revenue per user, per month) | $66 | $66 | $85 |
| Consumer revenue | $2,485M | $2,148M | $1,721M |
| Enterprise & government revenue | $1,806M | $1,109M | $867M |
| Connectivity revenue | $4,291M | $3,257M | $2,588M |
| Connectivity Adj. EBITDA | $2,597M | $2,087M | $1,583M |
| Connectivity capex | $1,367M | $1,332M | $1,130M |

On the Q2 call, SpaceX said it added more than 1.7 million subscribers in Q2, its best quarter yet (1.4 million in Q1), and served 167 markets. The CFO also warned that "geographic expansion may drive down blended ARPU over time." That's why subscriber count and ARPU have to be read together.
What analysts expect (attributed, not ours)
- UBS (John Hodulik, Buy, $210 target; via TipRanks, Sep 29): Q3 Connectivity revenue $4.9B, up 59% from a year earlier, on 2.3 million subscriber adds. Total revenue $13.8B and adjusted EBITDA $7.5B, against the Street's $12.9B and $6.9B at the time. If UBS is right about adds, the total would be about 14.3M subscribers. That's our arithmetic, not a UBS figure.
- Evercore ISI (Kutgun Maral; via Benzinga, Oct 16): kept Outperform and raised the target to $275 from $230. Of his five debates, the Starlink one is the "mobile wildcard": whether SpaceX launches a competitive phone service, which he says depends on regulators and building more ground capacity. The other four are mostly about AI compute (a run rate of about $104B by year-end, about 2.3 GW of capacity, 2027 pricing around $30 per watt, and 2027 capex near $151B).
- Consensus (TipRanks, as of Sep 29): Moderate Buy, 27 Buy / 5 Hold / 2 Sell, average target $233.10.
- Price context: SPCX was $145.93, down 1.81%, at the time of Benzinga's Friday story (Benzinga Pro data). A target is one firm's 12-month view. It is not a forecast we endorse.
How to read Tuesday's Starlink line
- Subscriber adds vs 1.7M (Q2) and UBS's 2.3M. Is growth speeding up or slowing down?
- ARPU vs $66. A lower number doesn't automatically mean trouble. SpaceX has said expansion into cheaper markets pulls the average down. Check whether revenue still grew.
- Connectivity revenue vs $4.3B (Q2) and UBS's $4.9B.
- Enterprise & government revenue vs $1.8B. This line grew 108% from a year earlier in Q2.
- Any Starlink Mobile timeline. Evercore calls it the wildcard, and SpaceX has said a terrestrial network still has to be built.
The calendar (one line each; covered in earlier posts)
- Tue Oct 20, after the close: Q3 results and webcast.
- Thu Oct 22 and Sat Oct 24: lock-up batches tied to the report and the prospectus, as covered in our Oct 14 and Oct 16 posts. No new facts on those today.
Bottom line
The Q2 Starlink numbers are SpaceX's own filed figures. The Q3 numbers above are analyst estimates, and Evercore's $275 and UBS's $210 are those firms' targets, not ours. On Tuesday, compare the reported subscribers, ARPU and Connectivity revenue against the Q2 baseline first, and against the estimates second.
